Elk City native Ricky Adams has retired from his post as the director of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Adams had served in public service for more than 42 years, the last four as the leader of the OSBI.
Adams was at the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for 32 years before becoming a deputy director and then director at the OSBI. He spent more than four years at the Oklahoma Highway Patrol as its chief.
He worked for police departments in Elk City and Edmond before joining the patrol in 1986. He also is a combat veteran who spent 35 years in the Army National Guard. He is a retired U.S. Army major general.
