Now that funds have been secured to build a new terminal building at the Elk City Regional Airport, City Manager Tom Ivester revealed more plans as to where the building would be located.
He says the plan now is to build the new structure west of the existing building, which would allow the current terminal to remain in use.
The approved funds came during the latest regular meeting of the Oklahoma Aerospace and Aeronautics commission in Oklahoma City.
Ivester also gave details of the new box hangar that was approved.
Ivester says the project will be a $5.5 million capitol infusion into the airport, with the majority of the project being paid for by the state.
No word on when construction on the two buildings will begin.
