Elk City, OK — An Elk City woman has been formally charged with Attempted Murder in the First Degree following a near-fatal fentanyl overdose incident that occurred on February 24.
According to court records, 47-year-old Cori Liane Wallace was arrested after multiple witnesses and police statements linked her to the distribution of fentanyl to a woman who was found unresponsive in a driveway. Emergency personnel administered multiple doses of Narcan to revive the victim, who had reportedly stopped breathing before medics arrived.
According to the affidavit filed in Beckham County District Court, witnesses stated that Wallace, along with another man and woman, was seen dragging the victim from a silver SUV and leaving her in a yard without seeking professional medical help. EMS and police responded quickly and managed to save the woman’s life.
The victim later told investigators she had allegedly smoked what she believed to be fentanyl with Wallace in a glass pipe inside the vehicle. She confirmed Wallace offered her the drugs and stated she had never used fentanyl in that form before.
Detectives cited surveillance footage, eyewitness statements, and body cam footage in the affidavit to support the charges. They allege that Wallace distributed the fentanyl to the woman and left her in critical condition without contacting emergency services.
Wallace faces charges under 21 O.S. § 701.7 for Attempted First Degree Murder. Her bond has been set at $300,000.
The case remains under investigation, and additional charges may be filed.
