A 17-year-old male was arrested on the evening of October 12 in Clinton, facing charges of assault and battery with a sharp object, and attempted murder, after allegedly stabbing two teenagers following a festival at McLain Rogers Park.

Reports indicate that around 9:21 p.m., a Clinton police officer responded to a fireworks violation call at the park and was alerted to a fight near the 700 block of S. 12th Street. Upon arrival, the officer found an 18-year-old male with visible injuries. The officer applied a tourniquet to a stab wound on the victim’s upper arm and later discovered multiple stab wounds to his chest. The officer provided aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital and later flown to a hospital in Oklahoma City.

A second victim, a 16-year-old female, later sought medical treatment for a stab wound.

Witnesses stated that the 17-year-old suspect had been waving a knife before stabbing the victims. He was arrested and charged with assault related to the 16-year-old and attempted murder for the attack on the 18-year-old. Due to the suspect’s age, his name has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing, as others involved in the altercation suffered injuries but were not stabbed.
