Clinton, OK – A Clinton pair is facing serious charges following a violent home invasion that left one victim hospitalized. Fifty-four-year-old William Lee Pedro III and twenty-one-year-old Lanie Marie Stratton were formally charged in Custer County District Court with first-degree burglary and assault with a dangerous weapon, following an alleged attack on a man at his residence on April 13.
According to court documents, Pedro and Stratton allegedly entered the home unlawfully on 16th Street in Clinton. The pair reportedly forced their way in through the front door. Once inside, Pedro is accused of stabbing the victim in the back with a butterfly knife, causing bodily harm.
Officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident and reportedly found the victim lying on his couch. The victim told police that Pedro and Stratton entered his home without permission, and the stabbing occurred shortly after. The pair then fled the scene. Police obtained a search warrant and later located the suspects at a nearby trailer, where both were taken into custody. The knife believed to have been used in the assault was recovered at that time.
Further court records show that Pedro has multiple prior felony convictions. Due to his criminal history, prosecutors have filed supplemental charges under Oklahoma’s repeat offender statute, which could result in a sentence of 20 years to life in prison if convicted.
Pedro is currently being held on a $150,000 bond, while Stratton’s bond was set at $100,000. Both have been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
