OU LOSES AGAIN
It’s getting late early for the oklahoma Sooners in Porter Moser’s 4th season. OU started the season winning all 13 non conference games, but they went into last night’s home game against Texas 0-3 in the SEC dropping out of the Top 25 poll after reaching as high as number 10. In a must win situation inside Lloyd Noble, OU fell behind by 23 before a furious comeback came up just short in a 77-73 loss to their Red River Rivals. OU’s now 13-4, 0-4 in the league with another winless squad coming to Norman this weekend, South Carolina.
THUNDER/CAVS TONIGHT
It was billed as the Rematch. A week ago Cleveland snapped Oklahoma City’s 15 game win streak 129-122. OKC’s won 3 straight and now gets the Cavs on their home floor tonight. The game lost a little luster late yesterday with the announcement that Isaiah Hartenstein won’t be available for the Thunder tonight. Cleveland’s twin towers dominated the game a week ago, and now without Hartenstein or Chet Holmgren it’s hard to see how OK City can compete in the paint. You can tune in to listen how they’ll do tonight on 98.1fm and 1240am. Pregame gets started at 5:#0 ahead of the 7;00 tip.
CUMMINS OFF TO A GOOD START IN THE CALIFORNIA DESERT
Wford’s Quade Cummins is off to a great start in his second PGA Tour start this week in the California Desert. After missing the cut a week ago in Hawaii, Quade’s made an eagle, 5 birdies, and a bogey to sit at 6 under par with 3 holes to play in Round 1 at LaQuinta Country Club. 6 under is good enough to be in a tie for 15th currently as the first round starts to come to an end. It’s a 54 hole cut because the first 3 rounds are played on 3 separate golf courses. Cummins will tee it up on the NIcklaus Tournament Course tomorrow before a 3rd round tee time on the Pete Dye Stadium Course ahead of the cut on Saturday. It would be the 3rd PGA Tour cut made for Quade in 8 career starts. It would be his first in two tries as a PGA Tour card carrying member.
