An Elk City man was arrested earlier this month and charged with false declaration in pawn, pattern of criminal offenses, and two counts of embezzlement after allegedly taking items from previous employers and pawning the items for cash to purchase pills.

Court records show 45-year-old Robert Eugene Neely is accused of embezzling just under $5,000 worth of items from one employer and around $200 worth of items from another between April 24 and June 1.

After locating the defendant, an investigation would turn up fifteen pawn tickets linking the stolen items to Neely.

After speaking with investigators, Neely allegedly confessed to the crimes.

His next court date is scheduled for August 12.
